Description
The McClendon Collection contains materials relating to James McClendon, a founding member and the first president of the Texas Fine Arts Association (TFAA), which was formed in 1911 at Elisabet Ney’s studio, Formosa. He used his experience practicing law to handle the association’s legal affairs. As this correspondence with Ella Dancy Dibrell indicates, McClendon also assisted in resolving issues concerning Ney’s estate after her death in 1907.
