Subject
Gallery One, European Gallery
Description
This model features a pair of clasped hands, which are thought to have been those of Lorne and Cencie. Crescentia Simath, or Cencie, served as Elisabet Ney and Edmund Montgomery's long-time housekeeper. She moved several times with the couple, even traveling to the United States with them in 1871. Following Montgomery's death in 1911, Cencie moved from Liendo to an Austin care home operated by Catholic nuns, which Mongtomery had arranged. She remained in Austin until her death in 1916. She is buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
